5 Facts about Massage Gun
We can’t deny that massage guns have been growing in popularity. Many have followed the trend and purchased one to use all around their body parts. However, it can be harmful if you do not understand the true facts of massage guns before you use them. In this blog post, we are going to reveal the 5 facts about massage guns.
1. Massage Gun will NEVER Replace Hands.
Massage gun can be so popular as it is easy and convenient to use. BUT, it will never replace hands-on therapy such as sports massage. Physiotherapists and massage therapists trained in human anatomy are able to locate tightness areas in order to target deep tissue releases accordingly.
2. The Efficacy is still Unclear.
It has been widely used but there has been little research on the efficacy and safety associated with the use of massage guns. It’s believed that its percussion or vibration improves blood circulation, reduces muscle soreness and enhances sports performance.
3. It can be Harmful.
A massage gun can be beneficial, however, it is possible to hurt yourself if you use it incorrectly. Hitting an area for too long can result in bruising, soreness, or even increased tightness. A little bit of the massage gun can reduce inflammation, but too much can actually make it worse. Furthermore, never use the massage gun if you have muscle strains or ligament sprains and over broken bones that are healing. Hence, do make sure you have read the instructions before switching your massage gun on!
4. High-end Model is Better Than A Cheaper One.
In general, the more costly ones typically generate more focused pulses and go deeper into the tissue. They may also come with more attachments and a wider range of speeds to vary the pulse consistency. The pricier models may also be lighter, quieter and more ergonomic to hold as well.
5. More Speed Does Not Mean Better Results
In fact, high-speed settings may cause discomfort or headaches if used on the shoulder or neck. To get the greatest benefits and avoid overuse, you should be sure to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for how long and how frequently to use your massage gun.
